Thalassaemia Services
Monash Children’s provides a day treatment centre for patients of all ages with Beta thalassaemia major and other clinically significant haemoglobinopathies. The service operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The outpatient clinic operates on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Clinical Services
This is the State wide service for the management of all paediatric and adult patients with these conditions, including carriers and individuals who need identification of their carrier status. Outpatient services are comprehensive and includes the Southern Health genetic counselling service for individuals and couples who are carriers of thalassaemia or other haemoglobinopathies.
