About Monash Children's Cancer Centre

Monash Children's oncology service is known as the Monash Children's Cancer Centre - MCCC and is based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton and part of Victoria's largest health service, Southern Health.

The centre houses the Day Oncology Unit (DOU), oncology medical consultation rooms and procedure rooms. A new outpatient facility was opened in July 2006 and comprises facilities suitable for GA provision. Children requiring inpatient facilities are managed withinone of the general paediatric wards at Monash Medical Centre Clayton.

At the Monash Children's Cancer Centre, an integrated multidisciplinary team of specialist medical, nursing, and allied health professionals provide care and services to meet the clinical, physical, social and psychological needs of patients and parents. This multidisciplinary approach is directed towards maximising quality of life outcomes associated with cancer treatments and long-term survivorship. The clinical service is supported by a range of sub-speciality paediatric and administrative services.

Many of the medical, nursing and administrative staff work across Paediatrics Integrated Cancer Service (PICS).
