Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine
The Department provides both in-patient and out-patient care for children with a wide variety of respiratory disorders, including asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity and cystic fibrosis.
Out-patient assessment of all types of sleep disorders is also available. A full respiratory diagnostic service, including pulmonary function, skin prick testing, oximetry, and flexible bronchoscopy is available. In addition, diagnostic polysomnography (via the Melbourne Children’s Sleep Unit) can be arranged as needed.Prof Nick Freezer, Dr. David Armstrong and Dr. Gillian Nixon offer both respiratory and sleep consultations. Dr. Margot Davey offers sleep consultations only.
