Play And Creative Arts Therapists on the wards endeavour to visit most patients during their day on the wards. Group and/or individual therapy sessions are planned according to individual needs. These sessions may be conducted bedside or in the playroom or studio.The Play Therapist in the CCC provides an individualised procedural pain management program for patients in the day treatment unit and also works with patients in groups or individually like the ward based staff.
Paediatric medical, nursing, consultants and allied health professionals can make referrals for individual inpatients.
The Playrooms and Art Studio are SAFE areas where no medical or nursing procedures are allowed. They are available for all non-infectious, ambulatory patients.
Outdoor Play Space Availability
The outdoor play space on 42N at Monash Medical Centre can be accessed at anytime during the day by patients and their families, children under 5 must be supervised at all times.
