18 - 19 October 2010 - Monash Newborn hold 2nd Symposium
2nd Symposium on Functional Echocardiography and Neonatal Haemodynamics
The last two decades have seen major advances in the care of sick and extremely premature newborns. Point-of-care functional echocardiography or clinician performed ultrasound is becoming an established tool that allows clinical decision to be guided by real-time evaluation of cardiovascular hemodynamics. While performance and use of ultrasound by clinicians at point of care is gaining popularity, training and accreditation protocols are still being addressed. Hypotension, ductus arteriosus, arrhythmias, oxygenation failure in preterms and use of nitric oxide and sildenafil are issues which most neonatal intensive care units come across in clinical practice. This Symposium will address these key areas of importance to neonatologists, neonatal trainees, paediatricians, paediatric cardiologists and intensive care nurses.Register now
