Southern Health websites win two global awards

Monash Children's and Southern Health's new websites created last year with our provider Brightlabs, have been announced winners of two global media awards.

The Monash Children’s website has won the 2009 Interactive Media Awards Best in Class Award under the “Hospital” category from 26 other hospitals worldwide, with a score of 481/500.

The Southern Health website has won the 2009 Interactive Media Awards Best in Class Award out of 69 entries in the 'Healthcare' Category worldwide, with an overall score of 492/500.

The global US-based Interactive Media Awards recognize the highest standards of excellence and outstanding achievement in website design and development.

They are run by the non-profit US-based Interactive Media Council (IMC) comprising leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other professionals. IMC is the governing body of the Awards, establishes the judging system and provides the judges.

The Best in Class Award is the highest honour. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. To win, a site has to successfully pass through a comprehensive judging process, scored to a maximum of 500 points based on design, content, feature functionality, usability, and standards compliance and cross-browser compatibility. Only a fraction of sites submitted in the IMA competition each year qualify for final judging.”
